Respublika writes about the plans of the Ukrainian government to extend the functions of the Ukrainian as the state language. The planned activities include introducing the Ukrainian language as mandatory for undergoing education in all state schools, testing of the civil servants as for their proficiency in Ukrainian, requiring at least 50% of the programs in non-state broadcasting companies to be in Ukrainian.
