Yesterday the Saeima did not support the proposal of the faction For Human Rights in United Latvia to cross out from the law On holidays and Commemoration days March 16. It is possible that the proposal will be submitted repeatedly. While debating, LC representative K.Libane told that, by supporting this initiative, the deputies would avoid showing contempt to the historians who had evaluated the events of WW II and stated that the name of the commemoration day given in the law did not correspond to the historical essence.
