Integration monitor

Integration monitor is a daily Latvian press digest on ethnic minority and society integration issues. The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used.   • 18 Ukrainians applied for asylum in Latvia from the beginning of the year till 7 August

According to the latest information of the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs, 18 Ukrainians applied for asylum in Latvia from the beginning of the year till 7 August. The Ukrainian asylum seekers come from the Eastern part of Ukraine – from Luhansk, Doneck, Dnepropetrovsk and Zaparozhye region. Majority of the asylum seekers have relatives residing in Latvia.
