The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. According to the leader of the nationalists party For Fatherland and Freedom/LNIM Roberts Zile, if ethnic Latvian parties do not unite they will lose Riga as the capital of Latvia and Latvian nation.
