Vesti Segodnya

Telegraf prints an article by the MP Janis Tutins on elimination of Latgalian language in Latvia. Mr. Tutins believes that Latgalian speakers are minority, however, they do not have any status in Latvia so they cannot even receive education in Latgalian or learn Latgalian in schools. Janis Tutins considers that the government should provide opportunity to study the language for those who want it in order to develop and preserve Latgalian cultural component in Latvian cultural heritage.
