Integration monitor

Integration monitor is a daily Latvian press digest on ethnic minority and society integration issues. The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. Latvian Centre for Human Rights is not responsible for information published by the media.

  • Diena on the visit of Latvian politicians to the Russian Presidents reception last week

Diena features experts comments on the participation of politicians Tatjana Zdanoka (FHRUL), Jurijs Sokolovskis (FHRUL), and Nils Usakovs (The Concord Centre) as well as representatives of the Russian community from Latvia in the reception held by the Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on the Day of National Solidarity on 4 November. The director of the Advanced Social and Political Research Institute Nils Muiznieks believes that one of Russias objectives in its relations with Latvia is to get more supporters among Russian residents in order to achieve foreign policy objectives in the international arena.
