The Council of Kandava’s region plans to promote integration of non-Latvians, within the EU Phare project ‘Ethnic Integration in a Local Community – Understanding, Dialogue, and Participation.’ It is planned to open several minority information centres, which will provide information about possibilities to learn languages, naturalisation, etc. In the region of Kandava there are approximately 300 non-Latvians, inclding Roma, Russians and Poles.
