Integration monitor is a daily Latvian press digest on ethnic minority and society integration issues. The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. Latvian Centre for Human Rights is not responsible for information published by the media.

According to Sols Bukingolts, publishing and distribution of the envelopes with the image of Herberts Cukurs who participated in the Holocaust is not a hooliganism but provocation towards all members of society. Sols Bukingolts notes that the issue whether political parties, involved in such activities, may be officially registered and implement their activities in the territory of Latvia.

While the Russian-language newspaper Telegraf, reports that the Council is planning to conduct a thorough analysis of news programmes broadcasted by all media in Latvia. The newspaper states that activities of the Council lead to a conclusion that censorship on mass media has been launched. Foreign Affairs Minister Artis Pabriks has appointed Juris Audarins to the post of the Special Affairs Ambassador on Latvian Diaspora Issues. The Council of Kandava’s region plans to promote integration of non-Latvians, within the EU Phare project ‘Ethnic Integration in a Local Community – Understanding, Dialogue, and Participation.’ It is planned to open several minority information centres, which will provide information about possibilities to learn languages, naturalisation, etc. In the region of Kandava there are approximately 300 non-Latvians, inclding Roma, Russians and Poles.The Council of Kandavas region plans to promote integration of non-Latvians, within the EU Phare project Ethnic Integration in a Local Community Understanding, Dialogue, and Participation.
