The Latvian government has agreed to apply to Latvian non-citizens the EU Directive adopted by EU Justice and Interior Ministers on Thursday on the status of permanent residents who are third country nationals. The directive will have no effect on the status of Latvian non-citizens, however, their possibilities and rights could have some improvements in other EU countries.
