looks into developments during the 7th Saeimas term of office and what the 7th Saeima has managed to do between 1998 and 2002. Dienas journalist Dita Araja concludes that the most important decisions regarding societal integration were taken particularly by the 7th Saeima. The adoption of the State Language Law and abolition of language requirements for persons running for public office were the most controversial issues for the 7th Saeima. While it is impossible to do anything regarding these elections, he expressed the hope that provision would be made for Orthodox voters in the next elections.
