To exchange information about protection of ethnic minorities and discuss further cooperation, an international meeting of officials from 22 CE member countries, representatives of European institutions and NGOs meet in Jurmala this week. Along with positive examples, like the amendments to the citizenship and language laws, Latvia had to admit the inability to ratify the convention on protection of minorities which was signed by Latvia in 1995.
