The Russian Foreign Ministry announced last Friday that Moscow hopes the sentenced red partisanVasily Kononov will be released. The announcement of the Russian Foreign Ministry says they hope that “the common sense” will win and the Supreme Court of Latvia makes an objective and legally grounded decision allowing to release Kononovs. In case the court ruling becomes effective Russia allows the possibility to start the procedure of Kononovs’ extradition to Russia.
