Integration monitor
Integration monitor is a daily Latvian press digest on ethnic minority and society integration issues. The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. Latvian Centre for Human Rights is not responsible for information published by the media.

informs about the visit of OSCE High Commissioner Max van der Stoel to Latvia. Deputy Director of DCMA J.Domburs informed about a project to assist persons who were leaving Latvia for permanent residence in Russia. There is no financing for this project yet, although Latvia had sent this project to the possible donor countries. The most responsive of them could be the USA and North European countries. Youngsters do not find the problem of citizenship very important because of the opinion that they have no influence on the decision makers. This opinion was voiced at the conference “Citizenship in Latvia” where young people met with the Head of the Naturalisation Board E.Aldermane, DCMA Deputy Director A.J.Lejins, several Saeima members and lawyers.
