According to the Minister of Culture Dace Melnbarde, production of programmes in Russian language on LTV7 considerably increased the channel’s Latvian and Russian speaking audience. As reported, Latvia’s public television and radio received about 1 million euros in 2014 for production of informative and analytical programmes in Russian language as alternative source of information to Russia’s channels broadcasted in Latvia.
