- Telegraf prints an article by the MP Janis Tutins on elimination of Latgalian language in Latvia
According to a leader of the nationalists party All for Latvia! Raivis Dzintars, union with For Fatherland and Freedom/LNIM will adhere to the concept of new nationalism, which is based on the idea of for our values and not on against someone. Mr. Dzintars stated that there should be strict laws and control on ethnic issues; society should be consolidated basing on Latvian language and culture and patriotic education should be implemented in all schools; and the goal of national parties should be to stand tough for ethnic Latvian Latvia. Vesti Segodnya
Telegraf prints an article by the MP Janis Tutins on elimination of Latgalian language in Latvia. Mr. Tutins believes that Latgalian speakers are minority, however, they do not have any status in Latvia so they cannot even receive education in Latgalian or learn Latgalian in schools. Janis Tutins considers that the government should provide opportunity to study the language for those who want it in order to develop and preserve Latgalian cultural component in Latvian cultural heritage.
