Integration monitor is a daily Latvian press digest on ethnic minority and society integration issues. The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. Party For Fatherland and Freedom/LNIM (FF/LNIM) is planning to form a working group to elaborate proposals for gradual transition of primary and secondary education into Latvian language only. Yesterday the Russia’s State Duma discussed problems of Russian compatriots in the Baltic States and the case of former Red Partisan Vasilijs Kononovs. The MPs criticized prosecutions on WWII veterans in Latvia and Estonia and the fact that large number of residents still does not have citizenship.
