Yesterday, the government supported liquidation of the Secretariat of the Special Assignments Minister for Social Integration from 1 January 2009. Its functions will be assigned to the Family and Children Affairs Ministry which will be called the Family, Children and Social Integration Ministry. According to calculations of the Ministry of Finances, liquidation of the Secretariat will save about LVL 316,000 (EUR 449,627).
