Member of the political party “All for Latvia!” Janis Derums stated that “massive naturalisation has resulted in an army of disloyal citizens” on the party’s internet home page. “Naturalization may lead to the situation when Latvians lose political power, as the number of naturalized persons has already reached 10% of all Latvian citizens,” says Janis Derums. He also believes that all extreme right parties should form a coalition.

On 30 January, the Latvian Conservative Youth Union held a discussion “Integration through the culture.” Columnists, journalists, actors, education experts, doctors and others took part in the discussion. Members of the discussion came to a conclusion that currently politicians do not see the dialog between Latvians and Russians in a positive light: politicians of both wings think about election results and not about harmony in society. Members of discussion also concluded that Latvian society needs to develop the idea of consolidation.
