The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has proposed to organise discussion about bringing in changes in the national policy on foreign affairs. “We do not have to change basic things, they are still actual, however, since the moment the framework policy was developed 5 years have passed and we should bring in some qualitative changes”, says MoFA State Secretary M.Riekstins. No specific changes have been named.

In Saturday’s congress of the People’s Harmony Party its former leader J.Jurkans was re-elected for the post of party’s chairman. People’s Harmony Party for the first time since its foundation approved the programme with the article of Latvia’s accession to the EU. People’s Harmony Party decided that they would form one block with “Equality” and Socialist Party for municipal elections and named S.Dologopolov as a candidate for the post of Riga’s Mayor.
