Fostering political participation and policy involvement of migrants in 9 Central and Eastern EU countries
Latvian Centre for Human Rights together with the Organization for Aid to Refugees (Czech Republic) as the leading partner and other partners from Central and Eastern EU countries implemented a project „Fostering political participation and policy involvement of migrants in 9 Central and Eastern EU countries” (Agreement No. HOME/2013/EIFX/CA/ CFP/4234) supported by the European Commission's Fund fo the Integration of Third Country Nationals
The aim of the project was to achieve electoral rights of third country nationals with permanent resident permits at municipal and regional level, to increase participation of immigrants in decision making processes as well as to support immigrants in formulation and implementation of solutions to problems directly affecting their lives.
The goal of the project was to improve participation of immigrants in public life and thereby address their marginalization and exploitation in Central and Eastern EU Member States.
Duration of the project: 1 November 2013 – 30 April 2015
The project is co-funded by the European Union
