Integration monitor

Integration monitor is a daily Latvian press digest on ethnic minority and society integration issues. The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. Vesti Segodnya reports that inspectors of the State Language Centre continue inspection in state and municipal enterprises. Presently, inspectors are verifying state language proficiency of workers of the public transport service company Rigas Satiksme.

The Security Police (SP) detained a group of persons which organised illegal transportation of Afghanis from Russia to European countries through Latvia. The SP also detained nine citizens of Afghanistan transported to Latvia by the grouping.
