The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. Vesti Segodnya reports about a book Russians in Latvia in the Conditions of Democracy Deficit. 1991-2009 edited by an activist of Russian NGOs Viktors Guscins. The newspaper criticizes the book arguing that many of its points are populist.
