Integration monitor

Integration monitor is a daily Latvian press digest on ethnic minority and society integration issues. The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. Latvian Centre for Human Rights is not responsible for information published by the media.

Chas reports about a book Integration of Society and Cultural Autonomy issued by the member of Russian culture NGO Veche Valerijs Buhvalovs. The book analyses and criticizes national integration program which according to the author is aimed at assimilation of ethnic non-Latvians. The book also provides alternative integration program based on cultural autonomy of ethnic minorities in Latvia.
