Integration monitor

Integration monitor is a daily Latvian press digest on ethnic minority and society integration issues. The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. Latvian Centre for Human Rights is not responsible for information published by the media.

  • Yesterday 672 persons were granted Latvian citizenship
Yesterday, the Cabinet of Ministers granted Latvian citizenship through naturalisation to 672 persons, including 35 underage persons. 69% of new citizens are Russians, 11% - Ukrainians and Belarussians each. Overall 113, 300 persons have been granted Latvian citizenship since the beginning of naturalisation in 1995.
