The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. The Special Task Minister for Societal Integration Nils Muiznieks has established a working group to examine the recommendations of the Committee of the Elimination of Racial Discrimination of United Nations. The MPs from the Headquarters for the defence of Russian schools are planning to visit a Russian school in Cesis. There will be no first grade in the school next year because only 14 applications have been received. According to the rules adopted by the Ministry of Education and Science, a class can be established only if there are at least 18 students.
