The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. According to Boris Tsilevich, a MP from the People’s Harmony Party and a delegate from Latvia at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), the PACE has adopted a resolution about the renewal of monitoring of minority rights in member states, which have not ratified the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities. Tsilevich foresees the renewal of such monitoring in Latvia, which was discontinued in 2001.
