III conference “Europe in a new millennium – without borders” organised by Baltic Forum will take place tomorrow. Scheduled discussion subjects are relations between Latvia and Russia, Latvia’s integration into the EU, as well as co-operation between Russia and the EU. Comparatively to the previous conferences the circle of participants is enlarging – parliamentarians from Estonia (Andrejev, Tomberg, Bronstein, vice speaker of Lithuania Parliament C. Jursenas, Finnish and Danish political scientists. Russia will be represented by scientist N.Arbatova, S.Shahraj from “Jedinstvo” (According to “Chas” he is a very close person to Russia’s president and could have President’s authorisation to come to the conference), I.Jurgens Russia’s Duma, N.Botka, I.Jurgens, A.Fedorov, S.Oznobiscev, V.Averchev.

At yesterday’s press conference Latvia’s Support Association to Schools with Russian Learning Language said that everything is ready for the conference of Russian students’ parents. More than 700 people have expressed willingness to participate at the conference. The Minister of Education and Science of Latvia is not going to participate at the conference, as he had already accepted another invitation.

Observers of EC Parliamentary Assembly T.Deivis and G.Jansons arrived in Riga to discuss the report on Latvia with local state officials. The Republic of Latvia has asked the ECPA to stop their activities in Latvia, as according to their opinion, human rights are observed in the country.
