According to the data of the Naturalisation Board the number of people applying to citizenship has increased. In October 920 people have applied for naturalisation and 564 persons have become the citizens of Latvia. In October 153 applicants could not pass the language exam, however, the number of persons who successfully passed the eam is 593.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia criticised Latvia’s President interview for the BBC regarding her expressions about the legionnaires – “the interview naturally goes with the content of happenings in Latvia. The leader of the neighbouring country tried to justify venture in the actions of Latvian legionnaires calling it basic human rights.
