Integration monitor

Integration monitor is a daily Latvian press digest on ethnic minority and society integration issues. The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. Latvian Centre for Human Rights is not responsible for information published by the media.

Chas prints an interview with the Minister of Culture Sarmite Elerte. The Minister believes that her vision of integration policy in Latvia coincides with view of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom James Cameron and the Canceller of Germany Angela Merkel which is that integration should be based on common values, common culture and common understanding of history. Mrs Elerte believes that language should be the foundation of integration.
