Integration monitor

Integration monitor is a daily Latvian press digest on ethnic minority and society integration issues. The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. Latvian Centre for Human Rights is not responsible for information published by the media.

  • State language inspectors will look for MP with insufficient state language proficiency at the Saeimas commissions meetings

According to Vesti Segodnya, state language inspectors are planning to visit meetings of the Saeimas commissions in order to reveal who of the MPs are insufficient in state language. Those MPs who will not participate in the discussions during the meetings most likely will be checked for Latvian language proficiency.
