  • The Unity decided to exclude the nationalists party For Fatherland and Freedom/LNIM-All for Latvia! from the establishment of government coalition
The Unity decided to exclude the nationalists’ party For Fatherland and Freedom/LNIM-All for Latvia! from the establishment of government coalition. Aigars Stokenbergs, the leader of the party “For Other Politics” (member of political union the Unity), took the initiative to stop the negotiation with the “FF/ LNIM-All for Latvia!” by stating that his party will leave the Unity if nationalists are included in the coalition. According to Mr. Stokenbergs, excessive ethnic tension will hinder the government from solving economic and social issues which are the priority now. Presently, the government coalition planned to be established by two parties which have in total 55 mandates – the Unity and the Union of Greens and Farmers.
