The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. National Programme „Roma in Latvia” 2007 – 2009 envisages professional training for teacher assistants of Roma origin. Starting from September 2008 every Roma teacher assistant will have seven hours of consultations. Their salary will be covered by the Secretariat of the Special Assignments Minister for Social Integration and later by municipalities.
