Friday Liepaja City Court found G.Landmanis, the publisher of the newspaper “Patriot”, guilty and he has been sentenced to 6 months in jail. The court established that the materials published in “Patriots” kindled national hatred and contained negative, humiliating attitude toward Jews and other nationalities.

State Language Centre will examine violations in LNT (Latvian Independent Television) programmes. The National Television and Radio Board established that LNT has several times violated the State Language law by showing the movies dubbed in the Russian language with Latvian subtitles.
