  • Russian Community of Latvia initiated collection of signatures in support of granting Latvian non-citizens voting rights in municipal elections

The President of the Russian Community of Latvia Vladimirs Sokolovs has initiated collection of signatures in support of granting Latvian non-citizens voting rights in municipal elections. Mr Sokolovs believes that granting of voting rights to non-citizens would be an important step towards consolidation of the society, equality and democratic values. The initiative should collect at least 10,000 signatures in order to be considered by the Parliament. News agency LETA
