Integration monitor

Integration monitor is a daily Latvian press digest on ethnic minority and society integration issues. The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. CIT+DEF During his meeting with Mr.Ulmanis Mr.Walesa stressed that "Latvia may be considered a model state in the domain of human rights". One of the main issues of the summit are defence aspects in the Baltic region. Agreements existing between the two countries were renewed.

During the dinner at the Riga Castle President Ulmanis pointed out that Latvia's commitment to international norms regarding human rights and expressed his hope that after the adoption of the Citizenship Law the country would be able to join such international bodies as the UN Civil Rights Commission, the UN Economy Council, and the Council of Europe.
