Integration monitor

Integration monitor is a daily Latvian press digest on ethnic minority and society integration issues. The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. Latvian Centre for Human Rights is not responsible for information published by the media.

  • Security Police Chief on radical groups in Latvia
According to the Chief of the Security Police Janis Reiniks there are several extreme right-wing groupings in Latvia: the Latvian National Front, the open public foundation “Latvian”, and the National Power Unity. Janis Reiniks stated that the most extreme grouping is “Perkonkrusts” whose ideology is ethno-racial nationalism and their aim is to promote departure of non-Latvians from Latvia using the extreme methods.
