Integration monitor

Integration monitor is a daily Latvian press digest on ethnic minority and society integration issues. The Monitor reviews the biggest Latvian dailies: Diena, Latvijas Avize, Neatkariga (in Latvian language), Vesti Segodnya (in Russian language). In specific cases other information sources are used. Latvian Centre for Human Rights is not responsible for information published by the media.

  • Riga City Council plans to establish the Refugee Coordination Centre
  • Donation account for urgent needs of asylum seekers is opened

The Riga City Council is planning to grant funding for the establishment of the Refugee Coordination Centre. The task of the Centre will be interinstitutional coordination of issues concerning accommodation of refugees in Riga. It is planned that the Centre will begin its work in 2016. News agency LETA

Voluntary activists helping asylum seekers in cooperation with an NGO Kanepes Culture Centre opened a donation account for urgent needs of asylum seekers. According to the coordinator of volunteers, the donations will help to respond to the urgent needs in centralized and more effective way. News agency BNS
